IN THE SHADOWS: ESSAYS ON SEEING

In the Shadows: Essays on Seeing is a collection of essays written over a two- and half-year
period (January 2018 - May 2020) while living and lecturing in Pacific Grove, California. The
collection is arranged in three movements, which widens and deepens on this journey we call
life. The subjects of the essays challenge me to look and consider why must these things be? I
hope that by reading these essays, you will see my development and the dropping of the scales
from my eyes. The creation of the essays is part of a story in themselves. They are, after all, the
development of one person’s act of seeing.
